MetroTV TV Channel

PT Media Televisi Indonesia is a subsidiary of the Media Group, a media group led by Surya Paloh, who is also the owner of the newspaper Media Indonesia. PT Media Televisi Indonesia obtain broadcasting licenses in the name of "Metro" on October 25, 1999. On November 25, 2000, Metro airs for the first time in the form of a trial broadcast in 7 cities. At first only broadcasting 12 hours a day, from April 1, 2001, Metro began broadcasting for 24 hours. From initially begin operations with 280 employees, currently Metro employs more than 900 people, mostly in the newsroom and production areas.
